<title>Dixon Hughes and Panthers Help Boys & Girls Clubs</title>
				<link>http://www.dixon-hughes.com/index.asp?intReleaseID=271&amp;month=5&amp;year=2008</link>
<description>Dixon Hughes Announces Second Year of Carolina Panthers-Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of Upstate Project
Greenville, SC, May 7, 2008 – Dixon Hughes PLLC, the largest accounting and advisory services firm based in the Southeast, has announced that it will again this summer provide resources, coordination and monetary support to the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of the Upstate in conjunction with the Carolina Panthers annual Training Camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. "When you've got a winner, stay with it," says Managing Member Kent Satterfield about Dixon Hughes’ second-year commitment to collect voluntary contributions from fans attending the team's practice sessions at Wofford.Last year, acting on community research it had commissioned, Dixon Hughes received the Carolina Panthers' approval to initiate the innovative project it had developed. Further, the NFL team provided publicity for the effort---which extended over a three-week period and involved 53 Dixon Hughes volunteers from both North and South Carolina. The volunteers manned several dozen practice sessions in the hottest August on record in South Carolina.Last year's volunteer collection resulted in $4,657.23 in contributions, which was later supplemented with $3,200 by Dixon Hughes, netting $7,857.23 for the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of the Upstate. The Boys &amp; Girls Clubs was selected as the beneficiary because research done for Dixon Hughes in the Spartanburg Area by The Pires Group of Greenville, SC, had revealed "Youth at Risk" and the related emergence of youth gangs as a major community concern. Boys &amp; Girls Clubs are well known, nationwide, for their effective work with at-risk youngsters.Riley Fields, Director of Community Relations for the Carolina Panthers, says, "We were happy to lend the Carolina Panthers' name and resources to this project. We have great fans in the Upstate, and the Dixon Hughes' training camp idea gave us an ideal vehicle to allow them to demonstrate their generosity for a good cause.”“The Carolina Panthers are proud to partner with Dixon Hughes to create new opportunities for at-risk children served by The Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of the Upstate,” Riley continues. “Through the generosity of Panthers fans, deserving youth from the Spartanburg area will have increased resources to help them succeed.”Greg Tolbert, President of the Boys &amp; Girls Clubs of the Upstate, commenting on last year's effort, says: "This project has made a world of difference to our kids. Not only did it result in generous support for our Clubs, but it helped raise the visibility of our organization---such that others have seen fit to single us out for support."The Carolina Panthers Training Camp will run July 26 through mid-August of this year.
